It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 21st International Symposium on “Signal Transduction at the Blood-Brain Barriers” which will be held in Arad, Romania on September 19th-21th 2018 organized by the “Vasile Goldis” Western University of Arad and the Biological Research Centre of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Szeged.
After successful meetings held in Dublin (2014), Paris (2015), Copenhagen (2016) and Krakow (2017), the conference will be hosted for the first time by a Romanian city. Arad is a major university centre in Western Romania close to the Hungarian border. The city has a strong multicultural character with Romanians, Hungarians, Germans, Jews and Serbs shaping a common future, the region being the birthplace of two Nobel Prize winners (Stefan Hell, Chemistry 2014 and Hertha Müller, Literature 2009).
We envisage a program that will cover the latest development in all areas of CNS barriers research including molecular mechanisms, cellular interactions, pharmacology and pathology of the neurovascular unit.
It is our aim to provide a forum for translational studies as well and to attract young scientists from universities, academia and industry.
We look forward to welcoming you to BBB 2018 in Arad, Romania.
In the name of the organizing committee,
Chair, BBB 2018
